During the first inspection of a construction project, the Team shall carry out the
following during the inspection:
a)Interpret the SIP prepared by the Site Co-ordinators for the construction project,locate the manholes and public sewers within the land parcel(s) of the construction project to determine the location of the construction site/activity,and take coloured photographs at each manhole and along the sewer alignment to show the absence/presence of construction activities within sewer corridor. If there is construction activity near sewer corridor, the Team is to measure the distance from construction activity to the sewer alignment. The photographs shall capture the construction activities and equipment/machinery on-site.
b)Communicate with the Builders’ Project Manager / Engineer / Owner / QP etc. onsite to obtain documents including but not limited to approval letters, documents, plans, drawings etc. pertaining to the on-going and future construction works near the sewers [Note: information related only if work is carried out within the sewer corridor].
c)Check for any infringements/non compliances or unauthorised activities as per WRN’s requirements and Sanitary and Drainage Regulation/Acts requirements. Call and report to the WRN officer-in-charge immediately when unauthorised activities are being identified / spotted during the inspection.
d) Inspect the interior of the last inspection chambers and manholes inside / near theconstruction project site to check the sewer flow conditions and for signs of illegal discharge of debris / construction materials. All findings including sewers/manholes found to be ponding, defective, silted, dirty etc. are to be clearly documented and reported with coloured photographs.
e) Check for make-shift toilets, illegal sewer connections etc.
f) Submit a report for each site inspection with the following information:
• Construction Site Inspection Checklist
• Coloured photographs with date/timestamp, labelled with (i) manhole ID, (ii)
arrows that indicate the direction of sewer alignment, (iii) details of the
construction activities and machinery observed on site
The Team shall submit the reports for the inspections carried out within the week on
following week’s first working day, via DVD or other agreed storage media to WaterHub.
