Job Description

Reporting into the Senior Manager, the Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading a team of merchandisers in driving merchandising excellence, strategy implementation, and operations planning for the entire Own Brands portfolio in NTUC FairPrice Co-operative Limited.

- Strengthen merchandising team capability & competency;
- Drive planogram compliance & implementation effectiveness & efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:
- As the Merchandising Manager, you and the merchandising team will support in the delivery of sales targets, product distribution, securing additional displays, and implementing business initiatives.

You will lead and motivate a team of merchandisers to achieve/exceed sales targets, ensure a fair share of shelves, secure additional facings/displays/distribution, optimize display ROI, achieve merchandising and implementation excellence. You will continuously lead, coach, and provide recommendations to improve team productivity and effectiveness by building the skills and capabilities of the team members.

You will analyze, interpret and report sales achievement/gaps; identify issues and develop an action plan to resolve the operational issues.

You will actively be engaged and improve collaboration with other internal functions in rolling out business initiatives/campaigns; provide input to the teams to develop effective and scalable solutions to improve activation implementation, space optimization, and merchandising excellence.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Engagement with merchandisers, store managers, sourcing and brand teams on new product launches, initiative activations, etc
- Analyze format/store sales to identify issues/commercial gaps and develop an action plan
- Ensure planogram, facings, and distribution points are optimized for new products. Identify gaps
- Identify in-store execution process improvement areas with merchandising team (communication process, POP deployment, etc)
- Improving in-store product fundamentals: share of shelf, planogram compliance, on-shelf availability & stock weight, etc
- Optimize POSM implementation to drive visibility
- Work with store managers to review sales to identify opportunities, visibility and improve OB penetration
- Work with stores to support campaign implementation
- Monthly KPI Audit on merchandisers’ performance for incentive payout
- Quarterly review of merchandisers’ itinerary
- Provide support to merchandisers to achieve operational excellence in stores

Job Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Business Management
- Minimum 6-7 years of experience in FMCG/retail/sales environment
