- Oversee the team of RN/AN, NA/HA under his/her charge - Responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by MOH and SNB - Must be familiar with the Destitute Person’s Act and the Destitute Person (Welfare Home) rules and regulations; and to ensure alignment of the resident’s’ care to these Acts - Lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care of the wards - Ensure quality audits are planned, conducted periodically and followed up with corrective actions - Ensure written policies and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) are set up, followed and maintained to the standard prescribed by MOH/SNB for nursing practices - Provide direct care to residents to ensure compliance to standards and safety - Ensure smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to community - Ensure appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services under his/her purview - Direct and facilitate staff development, skills and competency upgrading through in-house training, approved online/hybrid learning or formal education opportunities and mandated training e.g. BCLS, PPE etc. - Guide the orientation/induction programmes and preceptorship for all new nursing staff - Prepare and plan the daily rosters for nursing staff and doctors’ - Manage residents TCUs, Renal dialysis appointments, pharmaceutical control (including 6 monthly audit) and all dietary matters - Manage and update monthly and adhoc residents RAF, 6 monthly medical reviews, annual x-ray reviews, annual/identified vaccinations, etc. - Work with Allied Health on preventive and rehabilitative programs for the residents - Work with Case Management as part of Multi-disciplinary team on holistic individual residents’ care plans - Attend to Board of Visitors (BOV) visits and MSF related meetings/matters - Promote evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery - Demonstrate awareness of current nursing and health care practices - Monitor and analyze trends and changing needs of residents in institutional settings - Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Full Registration with Singapore Nursing Board with valid Practicing Certificate - Advanced Diploma in Nursing / Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent - At least 5 years’ work experience as a Nurse Manager preferably in the welfare sector - Physically fit - Maintain a high standard of nursing best practices - Ensure clinical effectiveness - Quality Improvement - Manage emergency situations e.g. pandemic, etc. - Basic computer skills in MS Office - Leadership skills - Develop a team of competent and dedicated staff
