Job Description

The Medical Services and Training Unit (MST) act as a patient’s advocate, supporting and representing a patient’s best interests to ensure they receive the best and most appropriate health care. To achieve this outcome, MST collaborates closely with units and stakeholders to put in place strategically sound SOPs, best practices and ensure efficient processes for the medical centre and operations. Undergirding the above is MST’s nursing staff orientation, medical training and continuing education programmes to maintain a high level of competency for staff. MST will also participate in the implementation and development of a wide range of learning and developmental resources, including the development of e-Learning modules.

Job Description
We are seeking an Outdoor Nurse Practitioner to join the NYC/OBS family. As an Outdoor Nurse Practitioner, you will be part of the Medical Services & Training department to ensure the efficient operations of the Medical Centre by providing timely and effective first-line medical care to participants and staff. You will perform pre-enrolment screening of participants, conduct and coordinate medical training for staff, collate medical statistics, develop and review SOPs, and manage medical logistics. You may also be required to perform 24 hours night shift and perform standby activation role during and after office hours.

You will gain experience and hone your skills in these areas:
• Effectively applying specialised nursing skills and knowledge, and demonstrate proper techniques and skills in performing nursing duties
• Accurately observing and recording symptoms, behaviors and reactions to treatments to make a nursing diagnosis
• Analyzing emergency situations and taking prompt actions
• Screening of participants to ensure that they meet the minimum requirements of the programmes/courses
• Conducting medical training for new instructors to ensure correct application of procedures
• Conducting First Aid briefing for course participants

Job Requirements

Job Requirements
• A Singapore Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in trauma management will be advantageous;
• Having a Certificate in Advance Wilderness First Aid will be advantageous;
• Good writing, communication, and creative & critical thinking skills;
• Possess a macro perspective of issues and an eye for details;
• Able to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment;
• A team player who is effective, resourceful, and takes the initiative in work
