Pharmacy Technician (1 Year Contract)

Job Description

Overview

Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient, and timely distribution of drugs in Alexandra Hospital. Assist the senior pharmacist in charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement. Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.


Job Responsibilities

• Processing medication orders
• Picking, packing and labelling of medicines in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Perform the following medication reconciliation steps: counting, sorting, and typing of prescriptions.
• Perform billing functions
• Process daily nurse request orders for inpatient supplies.
• Dispensing of medications to patients in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• To carry out simple bedside counselling at dispensing (Inpatient).
• Ensure a proper system of pre-packing medications.
• Carry out cycle counts and stock accurately and accordingly to the Standard Operating Procedures.
